My Personal Prenetation Award

My Reflection:

I got this award because I was wearing and using the Elm Park School uniform.  I have to try really hard to keep my uniform clean and tidy.  I am so proud of my self and I keep on trying to get other awards.

My Personal Writing Reflection

Today when I analysed how I did in my last independent recount sample and I saw how I was going in my work.  My weakest area is my vocabulary because I have not been using it much in my Writing . I know I am really good at my spelling and I have a lot of ideas because I practise so much at home and at school.

My Christmas Poem

My Poem:

Santa

White beard.

Dark red coat.

Big pointy red hat.

Opening up our presents.

Spending time with your family.

Having lunch with your lovely family.

The smell of yummy delightful food.

Looking up the chimney for Santa!  

Listening to some Christmas carols.

Waiting for Santa to bring your presents.

My Reflection:

I am learning to do a tagul.  The most difficult part was finding different words to put in my shape.  The most simple part was trying to find the shape.  Next time if we get time to do another tagul I would like to do another one, because doing tagul's are really fun to do and I really enjoy doing them.

The Musical Cockroach

                                                          My Reflection:
I have been learning to write a narrative about a Musical Cockroach.  It can be tricky to put the punctuation in the correct places.  I am so proud of my contribution to writing this amazing story about our courageous little friend Allegro.  I am writing another adventure of Allegro on BookCreator with Shelby. Watch out for this new e-Book when I post it. 

The Kweeks of Kookatumdee

 My Reflection:
I have been reading a book called the kweeks of kookatumdee.  When we finished reading the book we had to write it in a document. I enjoyed doing this activity because it was really fun to write.

My Reading Award

My Reflection:

I got this reading award because when we were doing a play called Maui and the sun I was picked to be Narrator by my teacher.  When we had a trip we went to Te Tuhi we read Maui and the sun and I was reading as Narrator it was so much fun.

My E-ako Fractions work

My Reflection:
I am learning to solve mathematic fraction work like this piece that I did.  I enjoyed solving this problem because it's really good for my learning.  I would like to play e-ako more so I can get higher and better with my learning.

My Foot Investigation

My Reflection:
I am learning to draw my foot then count all the squares in my footprint.  When I first started to do it I really enjoyed doing it.  I liked drawing it I had lots of squares in my footprint. I am finishing it I am up around 200 and something.  When I am finished I am probable going to up 300 and something.  We used colours to colour in the squares.  I have a high number so far.

Learning to use a Maths Think Board

My Reflection: I have been learning how to use a Maths Think Board to show my mathematical knowledge and understanding.  I drew a problem in a simple way to show how to use Base 10 equipment I wrote the problems with words, and wrote my number sentence/ equation and solved the problem.  I liked solving the problem and working it out.  I think next time I would like to do a problem like this one again because it was really fun to do.

My Te Tuhi Dream House

My Reflection: I am learning to put together a creative Dream House that I made at  Te Tuhi.  I chose to make a Dream House like this one because it looks a bit like a mask and I really like I think it looks awesome.  I would like to do another one of these again because it was really fun and I really enjoyed it.

My Reader's Theatre Play

My Reflection: I have been learning to read a Reader's Theatre group play.  The name of my play is On Track.  When we read we have to have a clear voice, not talk fast,when someone is not paying attention and doing their own thing don't tell them to go they need to figure out them self.  If we do another play again I think I would want to do a funny story-play.

My Reflection:  I am learning to write explanation writing next time if we do one of these again I think I would do a longer story

My Gymnastics Group

My Reflection:
In my gymnastics group for our finishing move we all were in the splits I was in the side splits and Shelby and Gemma were in the front splits.  Next time if we do gymnastics again I think we would do a different finishing move.

The Birthday Problem

My Mother's Day poem

My Reflection: I wrote this card for Mother's Day. My Mum enjoyed this card when I gave it to her on Mother's Day.  She had a tear in her eye when she read my poem- she was amazed.

My Basic Facts Progress

My Reflection:
I am learning to know my basic facts automatically.  My next step is in my basic facts test I should know them really fast so that I shouldn't get any wrong.  Next time if I do one of these again I should get better and get a lot faster.  I could learn my basic facts at home and in the morning at school so that I would be so much better.

Learning more about fractions

More fraction work on e-Ako

My Reflection: I went on e-ako to do some more fraction work. This task was a little bit tricky  -I had to figure out which the answers carefully but the easy thing was looking at the picture to get some clues to answer the fraction questions.

I got 30 out of 30 right!!!

My cycle skills certificate

My Reflection: I got this certificate because me and my whole class did this cycle skills thing that we do so that everyone knows how to ride a bike. For the people that don't know how to ride a bike.

My Reflection: I got this maths trophy because I followed instructions I also was doing the right things.  Doing them the correct way I also got the trophy because I was doing some interesting things in my maths book. Maybe I was keeping my maths book nice and neat.  I like doing my maths mabe next time I would like to do a bit more of maths every day because it is a lot of fun.

Reflection:  It was easy to write how I solved this problem because I know to make the given number.  It was tricky to write a reflection at the end because we had to write lots of stuff that we did in the Ti Kouka maths problem. Writing on a white board helped me solve this problem - it helped me when I got a bit stuck on something a bit hard but the rest of it was all right.  At the end I felt really excited when I had done because it was a long thing I had to do.    

Learning to write a reader's response

My Reflection:
I had never done a reader's response before and I really enjoyed learning how to write one.  I like making a connection to my own life.  Next time I would like to try a different NZ poem.

My Reflection:
I think I am still learning to write a bio poem.  I can describe things about myself but I forgot to put the sentence beginnings in. I will remember to do this next time.
